Default Long Range reloading myths

I dabble in long range. I am a reloader. I know many of you have a wealth of knowledge on both topics. I found this video to be very eye opening concerning some of the myths associated with this type of shooting and reloading.

I have the utmost respect for Bryan Litz. enjoy and share your thoughts in this thread

I have Been following Bryan Litz for many years, I always found it interesting that virtually all of the long range masters that I know echo the same thoughts, but with the age of the internet, many refute these philosophies because of what their app says, or what somebody told them that just got into shooting but is an internet junkie!

I have been running my own testing on weight sorting brass weight sorting bullets and measuring bearing surface. All of my results showed me none of those 3 things changed my group sizes or es in any substantial way. It’s interesting hearing from these guys that they had the same results. I bet there’s a lot of quirky things that people do and a lot of tools that are set up for marketing reasons just to sell tools and equipment that don’t have a measurable effect. Watching this makes we want to retry my annealing experiments.

There is a lot to be said for experience in general.

Absolutely Chuck , you are correct!

I love the old saying " Good judgement comes with experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement"!
As far as firearms shooting goes , about the only thing better than lots of trigger time is lots of trigger time with the good fortune of having an excellent coach to mentor the shooter!

Most of what I have learned in life has come from screwing up. :-)

Some people have 20 years of experience
Others have 1 year of experience, repeated 20 times.
There is a huge difference!
