I watched it last week, it left me a bit uneasy probably because it’s almost possible to see some sort of dystopian society come into being these days. The last year and half have not don’t great things for my opinion for a lot of society in general based on how I see a lot of people and governments treat other people. Its hard to really communicate the ways it made me uncomfortable but yeah it did.
I enjoyed it, look past the gore and watch for character traits that come out under stress. Each evil or benevolent behaviour of human nature is represented. It is also visually artistic, limited CGI and great sets.
All fun and games until you get selected and forced to play. Dystopian is hardly a fitting word anymore when all our movies and television- live streaming!!- reinforce the notion that lives are cheap and easy to snuff out.
