I was out today, drove from provincial park over to pelican point and went home through the ski hill launch. Lots of ice, 14-16" everywhere.
In 2 hours caught 11 lakers, smallest 5lbs, biggest 15lbs with a 11-12lb average size.
They were all beautiful, fat and healthy looking fish.
Lost more than Id like to admit lol

Ill be back out Sunday by myself

Awesome report guys. Its much appreciated to get info on ice conditions. The rest of it should be figured out on your own I say! Trial and error, in my case success Cant wait to get out there!

Fishing was great this morning. Had the lines in the water @ 8am and had a fish on before the baits hit bottom.
Fishing in 60-70ft of water, they were hitting hard and very aggressive.
Any questions shoot me a pm, lived in CL for 10 years

Was out on cold lake French bay on Tuesday. First trip of the year. Pulled out a 41" 19.8lb jack. Drove out on the ice no problem. Almost 2ft of ice

Some guys did, I didn't. I'd say there was 12-14" of solid ice so I would rather wait a bit. Plus I had a trailer and sled I didn't wanna leave on the side of the road!

6-8" where I was, some drifts were a bit larger. Guys in trucks had no problem getting where they wanted to go!
