Smile <<<walleye on the fly>>>

Spent a couple hours at Pine Coulee this aft. Fishing was slow(compared to Sunday!),but landed 16 'eyes between 2 guys. All were on the flyrod, all were released.I'm sure a little 'walleye chop' would've helped;the water was like glass while we were there.Had some fun, took a few photos. Nice to meet you down there,'Linemanforlife';hope the fishing picked up for ya later...

A victim of the Clouser Minnow...

Here's proof that the water was like a mirror...

More underwater pics...

Double-header...

Good times...
Later,
Steve

What kind of tippet/leader would you recommend when one is targeting eye's on the fly.

I really haven't done this much,so I'm no expert.
I've been using 14lb fluorocarbon with no problems.
If you're fishing somewhere where you're likely to hook into pike, you
may want to use a thin wire leader,or a much heavier fluoro leader.
Later,
Steve

Sounds good,

Thinking of heading out this weekend and might have to consider Eyes on the fly, most likely will head out and get some more gear before i hit the water, wouldn't mind getting that leader for pike, just in case.

Cheers!

Try some Spider wire, Makes for nice leader with its thin diameter and tough stuff.

Good to hear;that place can be a lot of fun, can't it? Did you head to the launch area,or stay at the bridge?

Talking

I went down to the launch. After I figured them out it was pretty close to a fish per cast.
