I never posted pictures before. I hope this works.

I got to take some nicer pictures with real camera as these are from my cell phone and the flash does not do justice for this rifle as it changes the stock colour from the actual one.

Got everything at P & D in Edmonton.

The rifle was $1225 and the scope was $499. Got them to mount the scope, which included lapping of rings and they charge $25 (I believe) for this service. The price for this rifle was the lowest listed price that I have seen anywhere but they did have only one is stock in 30-06. Their service was great, I would highly recommend them.

You did want 30-06 as well, correct?

Karolko, I've shot the Tikka T3 lite in ss/composite(actually I own it) one friend had the Savage 111 combo, and another guy I know has the Browning X-bolt. Now they weren't all 30-06's my Tikka is a 270win (or 30-06 improved as I tell my buddy). Of them all I prefer the Tikka. Smoothest action of all three by far, and personally fits the best for me. That said rifle choice is all about preference and fit so what works for me won't necessarily work for you.

I think it was low but I would have to confirm. The nice thing with them doing the mounting is that they check over everything for your best fit. And that is what how they adjust the set up and choose what to install for the setup.

JTRED: you are correct, i will have to shoulder a bunch of these rifles and see which one fits best for me...along with all the other stuff

LeonH: Yes i too am looking for a 30-06 or possibly a 7mm Mag,( have not decided yet) As for the rifle, i am leaning towards a stainless stalker but i am unsure how the recoil would be changed between the composite and wood stalks.

Sweet looking rifle. Here's a little more X-bolt porn if you don't mind.

My brother just bought an X-Bolt Composite Stalker in 243 and it quickly became his new favorite, cousin also just picked up one of these in 270wsm X-bolt varmit special.

I also am going to purchase the x-bolt but im just stuck on what calibre to get. I plan on hunting deer, elk, moose. I'm leaning towards 30-06 or 300win mag.
I just wanted to know if 30-06 will be good enough to take down a big bull moose or elk.
Thanks, Jared

They'll both do the job fine. I'd go 30-06 over the 300 Win in the X-bolt, mostly because I don't like 26" barrels. I've got one in the 300 WSM with a 23" barrel, very good shooter, with very manageable recoil.

I too have an x-bolt hunter in 30-06. You will love this rifle and it is definitely able to take elk, moose or any North American big game.

I love my xbolt, but I will warn you that the stock will not look that pretty after a season or two. The first couple of marks on mine were heartbreakers but now I look at them like a badge of honor. After all it is a tool, just a real shiny, expensive and beautiful tool. Im not buying anything with a high gloss finish ever again. The only thing that marks up easier than a brownings finish is a GMC paint job.Just saying.

I have a x bolt medallion in 300 wsm, this is the only rifle I ever had that I have not taken out of the stock.Trigger is excellent, and the 60 degree bolt lift is great with a scope and gloves on.I have fired 100 rounds of hand loads with three different bullets, all one inch and less with a 2.5x16x50 scope at 100 yards.I believe the felt recoil is less than my friends 30-06 savage.I am going to get another one in 6mm(243).

Do you have a white gold? Or what finish do you have?

I own a Medallion and a BL22 grade 2 ( both with the high gloss finish) and I find that the wood marks up very easily on both rifles.

I decided to give a x-bolt a try a few years ago purchased a stainless stalker in .300 win mag and topped it of with a leupold vx-6 2x12. It was my gift to myself for an insane summer in the oil patch. The one thing that I still have trouble adjusting to is the 26 inch barrel it just seems a little on the long side. Other than that I have had no issues with the gun, love the 60 degree bolt throw, dura touch stock, great accuracy it's gone 4 for 4 on critters so far. As others have mentioned I have heard the glossy stocks on the white golds do scratch easy so that might be one thing to consider but sometimes scratches tell stories so it might not be all that bad. Good luck on your purchase and I'm sure no
Matter what model you get you will be more then pleased.

Well its been four hunting seasons since I got this X-Bolt. It has been flawless and got me dozen tags filled over these years.

I now do have few scratches on that stock as others have predicted but I have learned not to worry about those things and to look at it as reminder of awesome experiences I got to go through with it. To say that I am very happy with my decision definately would be an understatement.

In fact, a couple of weeks ago this little girl has received a little brother X-Bolt Hells Canyon in 6.5 Creedmoor. Cerakote burnt bronze looks very sweet with that camo design.
I am still hunting for some glass for it. Looking to put something with good magnification power for this thing. Already got a 20-MOA Picatinny rail for it.

Cannot wait to finish this setup up and give it a try

Purchased an xbolt hunter in 270 win last week. I couldn't resist the sale, regular price is $999.99 and were on sale for $849.99 plus a $75.00 mail in rebate. This is my first new rifle in a long time, looking forward to getting a scope on it and doing some target practice.
