Yes I was out past point. Went to hump today foggy as hell took a while to get there. tried some 1 oz tube but no hits just some chasers switched to a 3/4 purist and a 3.5" pole dancer and they turned right on.

Yup good solid 8" for sure....sleds and quads out and about....trucks around the edges so far.
Bite was slow....TC Moto white body blue sparkly tail worked the best!

I am actually thinking of about two feet above the TC a Moto attaching a small willow leave/pickerel spinners just to get the trout thinking there is lots of bait fish and a little bit flash.....I do this in the summer so can't see why this wouldn't work....thought?

Figured it would be thinner ! Wasted a day on a small walleye / pike lake to the south east , ice there was 8” to 12”. Maybe Sunday ! If I start my hawing suckers now I should be ready !

pole dancer and tail chaser both have trailing blades they work great

Headed to Cold Lake in a couple weeks, we usually access the lake at frenchmans bay. I have heard rumors of the "sandbar" being a good spot to check out. Is the sandbar the area straight south of the provincial park launch?

Got those too......man I got a lot of fishing crap when I transferred tackle boxes and cleaned up it took my wife and I two hours....she just shook her head

Yes.....off the launch facing the water and hang a right...was lots of pop ups over there this wk-end.....pike, perch and maybe eyes but the lakers are deeper for the most part....caught a 10lbs laker in that area a few years ago...9' of water...odd.

Bite was slow....5 of diamonds #2...drop to 120' and reel up slow...pausing now and then....all the other lures, presentations did not pan out....maybe tomorrow.

try using a chartreuse and white fuzzy jig just like you would for walleye tip with a bit of bait if you want this can turn them on when other baits won't

I've had some decent luck at times with spoons when they aren't eating the big tubes. Usually go to a P.K. flutter fish tipped with just a little bit of anchovie or herring to sweeten. Smaller swimbaits like a storm wildeye have saved the day a couple times to.

You can get out there with no issues, a little ruff in spots but 100-200 yards off of garnet area 6" of ice, bite is slow in general with any presentation but the buggers are there...I went straight across from the provincial launch on my quad and sled in tow.

Tough go today. Made it down to the flat east of garnet. 7-8” of good smooth ice. Only landed 2 fish all day. Short strikes , lots of follows but few real hits. Lots of fish on screen all day. And that ice shifting at 240ish , holy crap, moved my chair in the shack and flooded the floor

That makes ya pucker eh!!!!!
I bring toilet paper for those occasions.
Sat out there one year with a buddy 30 yards apart...lake groaned from the depths all the way from Saskatchewan side....holes went empty of water...we both looked up at each other than a crap load of water spilled up...later we found out that the ice in the middle created a 3' pressure ridge.....imagine sitting on that spot at that time

Spent two days on the weekend had a 10 & 12 fish days respectively first day super aggressive second day not so much. Nothing big but Always fun to get out and chase em tho! Hopefully have a video together soon for you.
