Mark Stone just signed for 9.5 over 8 years. Draisaitl is signed for 8 years at 8.5. 4th in the league in scoring on a non-playoff team at this point and has only played with McDavid about 60% of the time this year. He is also chasing Ovi down for the RR trophy. He came in the league as a play maker but I think he is finding a better calling as a trigger man right now.
And the Nuge line and the JJ line were firing tonight with lots of opportunities. Brodziak's instigator penalty was crappy as we lost him for the additional 10 as he was having a great night, but was good to see him stand up for Benning.
Something has changed in the room and atmosphere since Gagner and Currie arrived.

I really like what I'm seeing. There's some lulls now and then, but overall, the compete level and team game they're bringing every night is impressing me. I think Hitch might finally have them playing "for" each other like he's been wanting all along. I don't know what the TSN turning point was or who gets the credit, (it might be a simple as McDavid missing 3 of 4 games) but somewhere along the line, Draisaitl got it, he's been a beast for the last stretch.
Koskinen has been solid. Like the team, the odd bad one gets by him, but he's made the saves when he needs to. There's a lot of potential there, hopefully his NEW goalie coach will unlock all of it.
Man, I feel bad for Klefbom, he was just really rounding into form and back on the PP, and then, just like that, back to likely being out for a bit. Sucks for him, really sucks for the Oilers.
Benning needs to get his head up. We might see Petrovic and Gravel next game, and that's not a good thing.
My biggest complaint, and it's been kinda baffling me, is how often they MISS THE NET, there's a lack of finish. Every game they've got 4-5 grade A scoring chances - they've got the goalie beat and just outright miss the net, or clang it off a post. (Nurse and Nuge last night where two glaring examples, and those would have been critical goals at critical times.) Add in the shots from the outside that miss, some of them by a mile, and they're killing me. If you take one or two of those every night and put it on net, that 1-2 goal difference is beyond HUGE.
Exciting hockey in March. 5pts back. So you're telling me there's a chance...

Maybe hang tight on that. The issue being, if they make it, there is a good chance they'll be playing Calgary.

Well, we softened the heck out of the Devils for you.
Win tomorrow night and you guys will be 4 points out of the dance with even games all around.
I would say that is your game of the year so far.

Lucic does well! He looks like he might make a difference tonight.
JJ ties the game.
Let’s get a go ahead goal. Maybe the floater will pot one!

Need a come back, big time. What a terrible time for Koskinen to let in a couple softies.

Maybe they can do a comeback like the Flames last night. Oilers should be steam rolling this American league line up that played the night before.

Oilers are playing like they're hungover. Probably are lol.
The Benning one timer was nice at least.

How is this possible, playing a team that is 40% AHL roster, as was pointed out on the Flames thread.....?
