Default F150

I have a 2012 F150 crew cab 4x4 with the ecoboost; does 19 to 22/24 mpg on the highway, depending on speed and other conditions. I'd be lucky to get 16 mpg in town. That's figuring out mpg the old fasioned way...pen and paper.

I've got a 5 litre and in 9000 k's (no trailering) all kinds of driving averaging 16.2 to a hundred K's. Running to Edmonton and back I get 12.8, Only way these get 31 plus MPG is if they are on a trailer or being towed.

2011 F150. 5.0L V8. Supercrew with 6.5ft bed. Drove speed limits during summer from Edmonton, to High Level/Zama City, and around, and back, and achieved 11.5l/100km.

Just recently drove 500km north of Edmonton, at speed limits (during winter), achieved 11.9l/100km.

The mileage on the trucks is very influenced by speed/driving style. Driving it gently yields huge results, where as idling, fast starts, etc., greatly impact it. In town driving I usually sit around 14-15l/100km.

Have a 2012 super crew eco-boost with heavy payload package, max tow package, large fuel tank, and 3:73 diff with 18" wheel and sitting at almost 20k. Best so far(pen and paper) has been 27 hwyand i mean only hwy, average town, gravel, and hwy is about 20, worst I got towing, i mean bad going, 120 and up against wind and got around 15.
hope it helps.

our f150's at work are driven 100+km/hr, and most are doing between 20-23mpg on the highway, this is everything from ecoboost to 5.4's. i'm waiting to personally know someone that is breaking 30mpg so i can believe it. i know some guys personally that are pulling 28mpg with cummins and duramax's. the best our old tahoe has done was 25mpg with the 5.7l, and that is only a 99 model. my dad's old 90 350tbi has pulled 22mpg on the highway, and that is a 22 year old truck, so where is the technology 20 years later that we are only beating that by a few mpg?

My bro has one of the EcoBoost V6 models and I think his best mileage was between 12 and 12.4 l/100km according to his onboard computer.

I don't think there numbers are way off.. But, when they are determining those numbers, they are using a specific fuel, in a controlled environment at a certain elevation (definitely not Calgary's atmosphere). All it takes is figuring out which fuel has the least additives, and your truck can gain fuel mileage.

The biggest problem with the EB, is keeping your foot out of it.. TQ is addicting..

True dat! My wife gets a really cute grin when she puts the hammer down on hers.

And remember that the MPG quotes are also in Imperial MPG - Not US MPG.

Plus I'll bet that the higher ratings are for a regular cab 2wd with no fancy options...

When shopping around for trucks, I found that the projected mileage ratings were pretty similar between the 5.0 and the EcoBoost, all other factors in the truck build being equal. when it comes down to a couple MPG, it's almost negligible, considering other factors you find in real-world driving, such as headwinds, idling, traffic light sequencing etc. We tow, so we chose the EcoBoost.

Best we got so far was 10.5 l/100 km on a 2012 EcoBoost Supercrew XTR with the 6.5 box... Don't rememeber what the conditions were when we got that, but on average we're getting about 12-14 l/100 km.

I'm getting around what Stinky is getting. Seem to average around 14.5L/100km. Still havent't had my first oil change though.
I have a turbo back exuast with a high flow cat on the way. we will see if that opens things up.lol I know it will sure sound better.
Engine is pretty green still though.
And yes, torque is addicting.

Mine is the same. 2012 super crew 4X4 ecoboost with max tow package, 3:73 rear ends. In the summer averages 15l/100km with small town driving and some highway. On the highway it was about 12L/100km but we are big people and it is added weight.

I don't think the numbers are much different between the 3.5L and the 5.0L for normal driving. We got the ecoboost for towing. Now once you hook a trailer on and load up for a trip the mileage takes a really steep nose dive. I didn't take it easy and let the truck pull the hills without backing out of it. I then got about 25-30l/100km. Pulled every hill without a problem and the engine braking is fantastic.

Like everyone else said its very very hard to keep your foot out of it.

really interested in exhaust! On my 05 i gutted my cats and put a new Magnaflow muffler on with single factory exhaust and it REALLY changed things!! Big difference!
I heard that ford has the most restricted exhaust of the big three. Gotta let me know how the exhaust turns outm how easy to change, what brand, how much, and what about warrranty? pm me is fine
