Good on ya lee. This town needs more like you.
Oko, without being racist there are a quite a few sketchy native types here and you never know what they're on. It was probably the best way to handle it. There's good ones around too, sadly they tend to be invisible compared.

We have a small bunch of Bum type guys that hang in a crowd of 3-4 at a time. The wife and I were eating inside Wendy's the other day and one of the (BUMS) was sitting in the corner !! Actually head down on the table and snoring !! At least he was inside and warm and he wasn't bothering anyone !!
So I went up to the order counter and bought him a meal and walked back to him and woke him up and said have a meal on me !! I also had a turtle chocolate in my pocket which i pulled out and gave to him !! He said thank you very much and i went on my way !!
It does feel good !!

This story reminds me of something that happened in Montreal, when I was about 16. My family and I were walking down a semi-busy street and I noticed a couple arguing loudly, it was French, but I could tell she was scared. As we came parallel to them, I noticed he was grabbing at her and raising a hand. Without thinking, I layed a shoulder into him as if it was accidental. This took his attention for a moment and gave her an opportunity to shoot me a grateful look and bolt. The dirtbag cussed me in French, punched a car instead, and walked the other way. I hope he busted his hand, and I was glad I could help.
Sometimes it's the little things that have big results.

At 16 you were probably only 6'3 or so, still with lots of growing left to do
