I spoke to the CO from the area yesterday and he told me when he tested (Thursday) there was 4-6" of ice near the boat launch. i'm planning to head up monday and check er out.
Carson also has sucker fish. The lake located at the entrance of the park has white fish, pike and sucker fish.
Do a trip in late april and fish near the weed beds. Lots of grande poissone!
Cheers
carson's also got the odd rouge burbot. i've seen a few and the boat rental guy has a pic of a big one caught by fluke on his brag board. like i say tho....VERY few in there...
A buddy and I hit Carson today and did quite well. There was approximately 4" of ice where we fished, but very little snow on the lake making for a slippery walk. Fishing wasn't fast and furious like I've seen it in the past although we easily caught our limit in a couple hours.
