Default off grid sauna, hot tubs and shower DIY

Anyone make these?

Sauna hot tub or shower?

Im planning on doing one a year and looking for ideas. I got no power on my site (other than solar)

This sauna looks easy. just get the right router bit for the T&G. I could be completely wrong though.

hot tub looks same

cost of pre-made is about
$7k for sauna and $5.5k for hot tub with wood heat.

How is the water in the hot tub heated?
I realize its from the wood stove but in a normal tub the water is circulated through a pump.

I have tried a few attempts at a wood fired hot tub using the copper coil method, my best heating time results starting from cold hose water is 5hrs to warm.

Looks like a small circ pump added to the line.

We made an outdoor shower for our Archery Elk hunting camp in the 90s.

-50' of copper tubing coiled tight enough into a cone to fit into a 5 gallon metal pail

-enough garden hose to put into a water source at one end and enough to put a showerhead at the other end.

-run a 12v RV pump to pump the water, we used either the quad to power the
pump or just an extra battery

-use either a tiger torch or deep fryer heated by propane

-brought along a pallet and a small enough tarp for a shower surround

Connect pump to battery to get water flowing, fire up heat source and wait till it warms up, jump in and take one of the best showers you will ever have.

Not sure why, but the 50' of copper coiled is the perfect temp for the shower.

We have a wood fired hot tub at our cabin. We purchased a small pool filter and plumbed in an intake and exhaust line into the tub. Filters the water and circulates. From20 C to 42 C takes about 2 hours. It's a 500 gal tub for reference. Very relaxing after a day of riding or wood cutting. We use Bromine tablets and test the water like a small pool.

We have rented a house cabin in BC last summer and they had this exact hot tub. It took us 5 hours of constant burning to get the temp to about warm…. It was next to the sauna so we actually used it more like a dipping tub to cool off rather than a hot tub. It didn’t have any pump so we had to agitate the water every few minutes.
There is a company out of Barrhead I believe that makes the barrel outdoor saunas.

I think you can buy an eccotemp propane shower for about $200. I bought mine a few years ago. Just need propane and pressurized water. I built a shed style sauna that I can get over 100 degrees Celsius in an hour. Gotta slow down the burn after that.

Thanks for the great comments.
I knew this was the right place to bring this up.

Seems the critical part is getting the right temp and keeping it there.

I got approval to buy a pre-made hot tub and tinker with it to make it better.
Not exactly what she said but that's what I heard.

Then can make a bigger one after I learn the process.

I have one of the Zodi, double burner propane ones with a D battery operated pump. Get about 20 showers with 4 D batteries. I've never had to use both burners but would assume with pressurized water attached, it would be needed.

Can I see some pics of your stove and setup? Just built hot tub and stove to heat it but takes it forever.
