Thumbs down Icbc

.
We have a very different system here in BC (ICBC), but we are having similar problems, including Ridiculously High Premiums

To remedy the situation here in BC, it looks like we may follow Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec ... and go to a 'No Fault' system. They claim it will save us 20+% in premiums.

Time will tell.

The "Survey" is designed to give only One answer, No Fault Insurance.

The problem is that the Government is doing everything it can to justify No Fault insurance.

The problem for the average Insurance user is that No Fault is a horrible system to give people compensation for their injuries when they finally need to rely on the Insurance that every Driver is supposed to carry.

The allure of course is that it will reduce Insurance Company Premiums. What it really does is protect insurance Company Profits, by removing the risk of a big pay out where there is a catastrophic injury.

When the Fisheries Surveys were being floated around, the Questions could only be answered in a manner to justify closing Lakes and issuing tags only on many lakes.

This is the same thing on a different issue.

What is really at issue is an industry that is lobbying hard to make sure that the bottom line is nice and fat, at the expense of the consumers. The motivation of the Insurance Industry is nothing but Profit. Every chance the Insurers get to jack up the rates or increase their bottom line is all that counts for them in lobbying the Government for No Fault.

Selling the Policy is just what they have to do to get the money from the Consumer.

.
I haven't decided if I like the No-Fault System yet. Like all insurance systems, there's pros & cons to it.

But one of the 'Positives' would be 👉 ... it cuts out the *&^%$# Lawyers

"NO FAULT" insurance not as regular insurance. I pay $489.00 for house that is within 50' of a fire hydrant, and has it own monitoring fire system and the fire station is all of 1/2 mile and valued at $200,000. I pay at least $1400.00 per vehicle of which I own two. 1 a 2017 and 1 a 2014 so "NO FAULT" is not as attractive as what it is made out to be. And I have had no tickets in the last 5 years. I hope I have answered all of your questions.
