Default where to fish for pike?

i am just out side of calgary and would like to know where a decent spot for pike fishing is. if there was any thing about 1 hour or hour and a half would work best, any suggestions???

Glenmore Res? North Glenmore park is an alright place to fish for pike, but not the best, but its with in calgary. Its closed right now though.

Lockend, whereabouts outside of calgary are you. If your south of calgary there are a lot of places within an hour. If you are north there aren't as many within an hour, but there are some. If you let us know which direction will be quickest for you it will open up some more ideas.

some that come to mind are, sylvan lake, gull lake, glenifer lake, pine coulee res, clear lake, don't think to much west of calgary.

You should try Burnstick Lake, it's about 120km from Cochrane and should take about an hour fifteen minutes from Cochrane. There is pike, perch and the odd walleye in there. It's also a little more picturesque than most of the prairie lakes.

Are some of these lakes still open ? I see today may have some sun and a warm breeze...

Im off work today, so I'd like to take advantage of a good day of fishing...?

I dont fly fish yet. Ive only caught Trout.

thanks for all the help i will have to try some of these spots. i dont mean to try and steall all your secrets but what is a good lure to bait to use.

If your fishing for pike anything will work.. You could probably throw a rock out and catch a pike.. hahaha
