Default slip bobber line help

The spinner line thread has me wondering. What do you use for line on a slip bobber rig? Right now I just use whatever is on the rod I have in my hands, sometimes its 20 pound braid, I know I shouldn't be using braid, so what do you all use? Also, does anyone tie their own bobber knots? The pre-tied ones don't work well for me, they are either too tight to move or to loose and they slide up and down the line with every cast/fish.

8 pound max. You want to keep it light. I Usualy run 6 pound main and 4 pound leader. Best advice is buy the book mr slip bobber. It will teach you everything you will ever want to know about the art of slip bobbing.
