Default NEW 12 gauge chokes

I recently got a couple of new chokes for my 12 gauge Rem 1100. I noticed that one of the chokes does not quite screw down flush with the barrel as does the original choke. Is this going to cause a problem for the barrel? I got the new chokes so that I could shoot steel shot.

Are they Remington choke tubes and if not, then what are they?

It makes no difference whether the muzzle end is flush or not as long as the end that's inserted into the barrel seats to the barrel properly. The wad carrying the payload should be able to pass from the barrel into the choke tube without catching or stripping off any plastic in the transition.

Bobinthesky;
Thanks for your reply. They are Nuline 2" screw in chokes. How can I tell if the choke is seated in the barrel properly?

Long fingers help here.
Barring that, a cleaning jag can tell you a lot if inserted from the chamber end and pushed through to the muzzle, the jag should not catch on anything near the choke tube (or anywhere else for that matter) . The step from the barrel to the choke tube should be as they say, seamless.
