Default Lucky!?

Not really but have to give you a hard time.

Who's taking the pictures? I've been told I can take a good picture of someone holding a fish.....just need an invite.

You abviously have way too much time on your hands. Those are some really nice fish. Good job.

AYR,

I live in Cold Lake and have been interested in persuing lakers on the fly rod in Cold Lake. Probably too late now as the water warms up but next year I will really be persuing them. Where abouts were you fishing for them? What flies? Depth? I have always had a huge fascination with lake trout...to take one on the fly would be amazing! If interested I can point you in the right direction for big pike on Cold Lake! PM Me.

wabamun used to be the best place to catch big pike on flies, biggest was 24 #, and in early spring before ice out.... the big girls hang out in the shallows, have seen bigger fish , but catching them was always hard. when you used to be able to fish there in spring(no closure), the big ones had so many smaller males following that it was almost imposible to get the big ones to bite. it was a pretty cool sight. still some nice sized fish, but the numbers of them has certainly dropped....

The best flies for me were large streamers, about 4-7 inches, dark top and lighter on bottom, moose hair on top was always the best, (cheap and easy to get), no weight, and no steel leader, it let the fly ride really high and not nose dive on a pause, used 20# mono as a leader, it cost me a few fish, but the payback was a very natural riding fly... when brought back just under the surface the hits are almost scary!
