Four rods eh? I think it might be time for me to say enough is enough. We have 8 rods in the boat, 2 dedicated trolling rods and 6 set up for casting. Yikes!

4 rods is a nice small star.

I have tons of rods. I usually carry 4 fly rods in my travel case and carry 8-10 rods in the boat normally. I also have a bunch of rods in the rafter racks of my garage as back ups or just older rods that have been phased out of the normal routine.

Yikes, when did you start buying rods? If my wife knew someone else thought four was lots, she would sell six or seven of mine!!!! It's a slippery slope.

I feel like a lightweight...3 ice rods, 2 fly rods, and 1 spinning rod that I haven't used since I got into flies.

I have about 15, only use about 4 of them. And 5 ice-fishing rods. Your real name isn't Joe is it!
I usually take 3 rod/reel combos when I'm fishing alone (2 real setups plus a collapsible rod/reel), and up to 6 rod/reel combos in the boat when with two other people. As backups if one breaks/spooled out, birdsnest beyond repair etc, and when re-rigging,nice to always have another line ready and in the water.

Side note, think I read it on here... one of my favorite quotes (roughly quoted):

"One of my biggest fears is that my wife will sell my stuff for what I told her I paid for it"

Open water: 15 or 16 spinning and bait casting rods and 19 spinning and bait casting reels.

Ice fishing: At least 6 spinning rods with reels, 4 bait casting rods with reels (lake trout jigging), 6 or 7 tip ups.

Can never have too many rods, reels and firearms!

3 in the garage,
1 at my brother's place but he denies it,
2 at my brother in laws place, but we can't agree which two they are,
2 at a buddies place in Saskatchewan so are only available when I'm up there,
3 at my father in laws, but he keeps lending them out so they're never available when I'm there,
and I'm sure I have a couple more, but no clue where they are.

You're asking in the wrong place if you think 4 is a lot... The people on here are big into fishing, myself included. I spend way more money than I should, but if I have the time, there is nothing I'd rather do than fish. (Well besides sex, which is WAAAAAAAY more expensive.)
Had a guy one time comment that my tackle box looked like a portable bass pro shop. I love fishing, lots of worse things to spend money on.....

3 well used fly rods, one Spey, one Tenkara, 3 spin casters collecting a lot of dust because of the fly rods, two pack down travel rods and 4 ice rods.

It didn't sound bad until I just listed them all. Thank goodness my wife doesn't come to this forum

Okay best guide!!!! You either live in your moms basement and receive an awesome allowance! OR you're the best paid forklift operator in all of North America..........

edit, do you buy a couple islanders every month to reach that 1600 mark, or is most of it just for your black jigs?...............
