Four.. Two are regular ol' spinning reel/rods - one's a backup... one with trout line and the other is a fly fishing rod. Always carrying 'em with me just in case.

Well I call BS on $1600 a month. Maybe spent that one time in a month, but no way you spend that every month. I really think you'd be a nice guy to meet in person, you seem like a "best nice guy shawn homeniuk". but some of your posts are just begging for criticism....

Edit: not some, many!

eg: dancing naked at parties...? for men?

Sure, I'll be at the Bow river, Prince's Island Park tomorrow night... Are you gonna bring your new Islander and the 1600x12= $18,000+ worth of black jigs you bought in the last year? C'mon! Just admit you exaggerate!

Edit: Just so nobody thinks I'm bad at math, just giving a $1200 leeway for rods and reels....

How many rods do I have???? Nice one.

My wife asked me that question once. I asked her how many pairs of shoes did she have.

She said you can only use one rod at a time.

I told her she can only wear one pair of shoes at a time.

The conversation never ever came up again.

I wish that I had a budget that was half that. That being said, some of the semi-pro and pro bass and walleye fishermen have some insane amounts of gear.

I have:
1 spey fly rod
1 switch fly rod
3 regular fly rods
1 Tenkara fly rod
1 13' (I think . . . might be longer) Shakespeare Wonderpole
2 beefy baitcasting rods for use as downrigger rods
7 spincasting rods
10+ ice fishing rods.

Keep in mind, those are just my rods . . . hubby and the boys each have their own (all of which were given to them by me).

Hubby has:
1 spinning rod
2 ice fishing rods

#1 son has:
1 Spey Rod
1 Fly Rod
1 spinning rod
6 ice fishing rods

#2 son has:
1 Spiderman spincasting rod

While they often use my rods, they're no longer allowed unless I'm there. I'm not sure why my man tribe just won't respect my fishing gear! Every piece of broken gear I've had to deal with has been a result of one of the XYs in my home.

Oops. Forgot the tip-ups (if those count). I have 5 of those.

I've discovered that when the collection reaches a certain size they don't notice the changes to it anymore.

I could bring another four rods into the house all at once, and hubby would have no idea it had happened.

I agree....and if they ever mention a new rod,, just toss out "Oh, this old thing?", and they simply assume it was one of the bunch that they never noticed before.
