Default Closing Day 2011

Got out for my traditional "last day of the season" fishing trip. Water was low and Gin clear, but the wind rippled the water enough to allow for some good nymphing.

Landed 2 bows and 1 RMW. Missed a couple takes and lost a couple more.

First trout 18" buck; immaculate.

Second trout 24"'ish. Took a bead head lightning bug deep. Popped out easy with the forceps, and I noticed it was bleeding a bit when I took the picture, so I didn't want to stress it by measuring.

How was everyone's closing day?

Nice looking bows.

I was suppose to get out on the river south of us before it closed but never had the chance.

Oh well that just means I will have to hit it hard next season.

Those are some nice fish for your last outing of the season

As for me, I figure I've got at least another week of fishable weather on the NSR...if not two. And hopefully by the time the NSR gets unfishable I should be able to get out on a couple of the pothole trout lakes
