Default Ice report around Boyle

I decided to hunt some old stomping grounds today and look for grouse with the dog.



..decided to check ice on lakes...




Northbuck Lake and Chump lake are froze over. Bitchin' chilly this morning....... it was soooooooo smooth......... no snow on it... I walked out 10 feet on NorthBuck... omg can you say

*****BRING ON THE ICE!!!! *******

there is birds in one pic on the ice... not water... the lake has a layer of ice right across.... why would the birds just sit on the ice?

Thanks for the report and pics AB...i realize this is the fishin section but did you get any birds? Years ago we used to hunt and fish around bellis...surf and turf!

no... not for waterfowl. Seen quite a few canada geese flocks going overhead as well

btw.. i walked out about 10 feet from the dock at the Prov Park.. barely a crackle...then again its shallow there

it was extremely chilly this morning... and up there its a intense chill.. i imagine jumbo perch will be slayed in less than 3 weeks

Thanx for the report. I'll be heading up to the cabin (skeleton) next week for four days. See many grouse? there isn't as many as there was 4 or 5 years ago.

I was around Long Lake today. There are not even as many grouse as last year.

The ice is nice and clean and smooth like ABB's pictures.

Three coyotes looked sort of mangy. Their hides should look better at this time of year
