Default Electronic Training Collars

Looking to buy a new one as it's time to introduce my dog to it. My old DT 100 from 20 years is DOA and besides that the collar weighs in around 2 lbs. I don't need recommendations on what to buy as I have it nailed down to either of two different models based on availability. What I need to know is there any place that sells either DT Systems or Tri Tronics locally. I'm not interested in the backyard trainers that I have seen in pet shops.

Any info would be appreciated.

Default dogtra collars

Ringneck kennels out of strathmore sells dogtra collars. I have a few collars(tri-tronics and dogtra) both of these are good. Stay away from the knock offs.

Cabelas or wholesale sports Sells Tri Tronics. TT would be the only collar I would put on my dogs. Not only is their customer service flawless but the product itself is top of the line with very few of the collars failing.

Default Cabelas

Pretty sure that is what I will be doing as well. Just thought I'd try to drop a few bucks at a local shop if I could. Would rather keep some local business going even if it cost a bit more. Certainly nothing against Cabelas. If only my wife really knew how much of my money they have gotten over the years.

thanks

If you are interested I have friend in Billings that is a TriTronics rep and I can send you his E-mail # he would be cheaper than the comp. just PM me. If not I would recommend the Collar Clinic over top of Cabela's. I own DT, Tritronics, Dogtra and would recommend the Dogtra/TriTronic's. I like the TriTronic's Pro 1-500 2 hour charge/trikel charge and ability to run 3 dogs at once and can stay on the charger, Dogtra has been very dependable over 10 years, replacement for my DT is still coming in the mail due to its 3rd. failure in 4 years..........puphood1

Marty Knibbs from Expressway Kennels in Regina is also a good resource for e-collars...I saw that someone also reccommended Ringneck...Marty is a distributer and has them on site...Casey Butz out of Stoney Plain is another you could contact...

What kind of dog is this and why do you think you need a collar (if you don't mind me asking...no disrespect intended)??

Phil Oldale in Calgary is a TriTronics dealer and is very good to deal with. 403-282-5096

Is Cabelas that much cheaper and more accessible than fellows like Phil or Marty? Never mind Wholesale or Cabelas IMO.

The other option, and probably your best one, is to order directly from TriTronics. I say this because you indicate you have an old collar. TT will give you a 25% trade in for your old collar against the purchase of a new one. Check it out on their website. If you call Phil he may even be authorized to give you the trade in allowance.

If you talk to the guys at Collar Clinic they do the exact same thing. Give you 25% off a New TT unit.

Collar clinic also alot of work on broken collar so you may be able to find a refabricated one for cheap.

Got both of mine from www.tritronics.ca out of BC. Quick delivery, good price at the time. You could also check www.zingerwinger.com out of Ontario.

Also check out Mist Marsh Gun Dog Supplies. I've got a couple items from them. Trent knows his stuff when it comes to collars.

My pup's at Ringneck and I ordered the new dogtra 1900 for cheaper than the guys in Calgary could order a 200.
