Thumbs up Goodwin-Steepbank 2010 Trip

Me and a couple of buddies went up to Goodwin and Steepbank Lakes for a few days of fishing, camping, and quadding. The fishing was great as usual and we got a big one out of Goodwin. Many times, all three of us in my 14 foot aluminum had fish on at once and it was fish on every cast for the most part. We had Little Steepbank to ourselves again at the great little camp spot above the lake. This lake sees a boat only a few times a year. I have fished these lakes since I was in my teens and it never gets old.

Goodwin has that class of big pike in it still. Mostly you will catch 2 pounders but the big pike are there as you can see by Jesse's fish. We had a few good fish fries.

Axeman,
Looks like you had a great trip.
Any ideas on the weight of that pike? 8-9 pounds?

Scale said 10.5 pounds, Rocky. It was a thick one.

Cool! I tried Goodwin last year and only landed a few skinny and slimy guys. I've heard there are some big guys in there. We thought about going up there this past weekend but opted to go to Seibert instead, which paid off because the fishing was spectacular!
