Question Cardiff Pond - Morinville

Hello, thanks for viewing my thread!

Me and the old man are thinking of heading out to Cardiff to check the ice level and see if its possible to fly fish. Before we head out I thought i'd make a post on here to see if anyone has been out, as I can't get a hold of the golf course/pro shop up there as of late.

Cheers

OTF

Lots of ice but water starting to show around the edges. Probably be at least a week yet if this weather holds. Hope it didnt winter kill.

Yeah. I checked yesterday and agree it will be at least another week for enough open water.

FYI it winterkills more often than not. I don’t know the status this year, as I stopped fishing it when the perch disappeared.

There are people fishing the morinville reservoir right now, just drove past it. About 15 yards of open water.
