Default bolt action problem

I have a hard time closing the bolt on my 243 on factory ammo. I just received the rifle and I have to really torque on it to close it. Once the ejecter catches the rim it close fine if I lift and close the bolt again. Any thing I can file down on the ejecter to make it latch on easier?

Noticed it really scars up the rim of the casing and theres brass filings inside. If I remove the bolt and press a casing straight into the ejecter it push back and call catches the rim with minimum pressure

Is this a CRF rifle & you're forcing the extractor to jump a chambered round's "rim"?

Check to see if the spring behind the ejector is not broken or to long!

Also check for rust, dirt etc. as well

Trades I would interested in:
- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

Just a wag.
Does the bolt serial match the rifles number?
Maybe a shot of brake clean in the ejector cutaway on the bolt. Or blast some into the chamber were the locking lugs contact. If your getting lots of crud out the area it might be a starring point

Yep serial number matches. I think the extractor is not installed properly. It needs to be flipped

So my extractor ring is bent . Looks like it was replaced or tinkered with. Its a rivet type extractor. Is it possible to replace it with Brownells rivetless extractor
