Default What's your biggest Alberta Walleye?

Alberta isn't exactly known for phenomenal fishing, but I think it's underrated. let's see your biggest Alberta Walleyes.

I'll start with what I think was my biggest Walleye. Pinehurst lake, summer of 2000 or 2001, I don't own a scale, but it measured 86cm in length. I'm guessing 13-14lbs. It was my first fish on a slip bobber.

Really? Sounds like someone can't catch fish.

This is about fishing, if you're into 70yr old women that should be best kept to yourself. I guess some people are just weird that way, but whatever floats your boat.

Ps, I'm glad you like my Mom

That's a great walleye, I wish I had taken a girth measurement on mine.

Do you have pics?

I never said I thought the fishing was bad, I said it's not known as phenomenal but think it's underrated. I used to catch lots in the10-12lb range out at Calling lake up until about 8yrs ago, they are still there but not as common.

Do you have a pic of your big walleye Wayne? Need pics for the thread.

I've caught 2 in Alberta that broke the 30" mark, bigger of the two pictured below which would be my biggest AB walleye.

My biggest was a 30.5 inch walleye i pulled out of the rdr on the edge of town.
Really skinny and weighed in at 9.5 pounds.
My brother got his first phone and was taking pictures before we released it.
Look at the pictures a little later and realize he was taking pictures of his head on selfshot mode.

Wayne is the hard water Walleye master, his Walleye pictures speak for themselves. There are plenty of very impressive Walleye in Alberta not just at Frank lake. My PB is 30" and 10lb, just a little guy compared to those Frank lake monsters.

23.5 inches. A solid 5 pounder. I don't fish for walleye much, as I am much more successful with trout.

I was out a few weeks ago, our biggest for the day was around 62, willowtrail hooked a 65. It's still not bad fishing, but no where near pre 2k.

I'm not sure about calling lake, but Team Anzac said he seen a 50" bull just east of my place on the weekend! Always lots of swamp donkeys around.

Me too! Well, 31.5 and 30 within the span of an hour. The highlight of my fishing career, no doubt.

My friend killed a monster bull right by Calling Lake about 10 years ago. An absolute giant!
