It was my Dads. I never asked him if he got it like that.

Many many many nails were straightened out on it, we tore down several annexes and elevators, made a few garages 45 years ago.

Over 40 years ago the gang went out to a friends farm for his stag. Dad had already moved to town. After a few drinks we started feeling and talking tough !! Out to the shop to try to hoist the anvil by the horn...with one hand!! The only guy who could do it was the grooms father....the old guy! Tough as nails.

I really like old stuff that has character and many stories to go along with them.

From what I understand, troops would sometimes break the horns off of anvils during the Civil War to render then useless to opposing forces.

I’d like to have a nickel for every time a hammer has struck something on that piece of metal.
