Does "except brown trout limit 0" mean you can only keep brown trout? Or brown trout are the only thing you CAN'T keep? I've never been sure.

Mountain Whitefish limit 3 over 30 cm; Bait Ban.

Which would mean you can't keep brown trout.

Fishing regs language is fishy

Here is one I don't like for rainbow in the CNR:

(any over 30cm must be released, only 1 may be longer that 45cm) - restrictions combined with Cutthroat Trout

I understand it, but isn't there a better way somewhere in the English language to write this?

Literally, if I release all fish over 30 cm, I'll never get to keep one that is longer than 45 cm.

I'm not complaining..................just adding to the OP...................shaking my head.

suggestion

any over 30cm to under 45cm must be released. Only 1, 45cm or longer may be retained.

i read it as you can keep any other trout except brown trout, you have to release them.
