For me it was something very simple. I love the look of pouring the cream into my coffee in the morning. And it tastes good

Wife and I are almost packed and hittin the road to Faimont Hot springs for the weekend.

Some pool soaks, hiking and going to throw in a cold game of golf !!

I know it's nothing like running the big equipment, but worked with a finishing crew when I was a young guy in university one summer. Ran a bobcat (Case 1845c) and cleaned up edges and stuff, did the meridians, and steep culvert areas - got pretty good at it too.

Was a really fun job, great guys, and, in some strange and weird way, rewarding to look back at what you did all day and glow with pride in a job well done.

Overworked and underpaid. Early mornings and late nights. Regardless I still like playing in the big ol sandbox. Starting another lease today with a 6 and a 8. Life's good.

Well I got home from work and while getting my gear ready for tomorrow and bull elk started bulging so I returned the favour. This went on for an hour or so and I managed to get him to my fence line but it was pretty much dark. He was just an average 5 spike anyways.They have to be sixes here in BC. I was fixing gear, having a beer and bulging up a bull elk.That made me happy today

Got to play with my grandsons for 2 days, littler one fell asleep in my arms for the first time. Great bonding day.
I needed that, got bad news about a friend that died way too young, 32 years old.

Nothing special. I changed the oil in our three cars without any issues at all. Cleaned up the garage, grilled a couple of nice steaks (I'm only allowed beef once a week) and spent the evening watching TV with my lovely wife.
As I get a little older and my health is more of a concern, I find I appreciate the little pleasures in life and am happy with what I have instead of always wanting something else.
I've got it pretty good. Great wife, nice home, loving family and all the material things I need.
Health could be better but I'm working on that.
In the last year I've quit smoking and drinking and am trying to eat healthier.
If I could gain back some of the weight I've lost I'll be good.
I'm doing my part by stuffing my face as often as I can with good food and donuts... I love donuts...
I know and see a lot of people that have it worse off than I.
I'm happy and grateful for everything.

Now if only the Oilers would do their part...

Might as well bring those commanders up here after your done. Rain and a little snow here and 1/3 done building a lease extension. Fight to get the dirt on the blade and fight to get it off. Didn't think the dirt could get any wetter but it does. Makes me happy that I still learned something new. That is that we can build mud leases and really makes me happy that I'm not a truck driver. Lol

When you get up at 4am and its pouring and your heading in the direction it came from. Well sweetheart looks like she’s going to be a two sets of triples and a steer kind of day. Better pack me a bit extra lunch. Get where I’m going and its dry. Stays that way all day. When you leave and find its been raining and snowing all around you. It’s nice when the tank trucking gods like you that day.

I realized last Friday that I'm down to a half box of the .25-06 ammunition I've been using for hunting the last few years, I thought I had 1.5 boxes still. I was planning to develop some loads for the rifle this year, in time for next years hunt, but that has been moved up to an immediate need. (Panic)

A friend, who I've hardly seen for the last year, and I spent Sunday afternoon doing a bunch of brass prep, and loaded 20 rounds, 4 shots of five different charges. (Happy)

The wind actually stopped blowing yesterday (Happy), so after work I quickly grabbed a few things to get to the range and do a test. (Happy)

My wife was fine with me missing supper, even though it was our 14th anniversary. (Doubly Happy)

I had a nice couple hours at the range, it wasn't busy (Happy), and in my first batch I seem to have a load that should more than suffice for a deer or 2 this year. (Very Happy).

It was a good day.

Met a man at the rocky mountain house range today. He let me shoot 50 rounds through his Browning single shot 45/70 black powder cartridge rifle. He uses this gun in competition matches. All because he needed the brass. Thanks again for giving me an opportunity to try something new.
