Default Has Anyone tried Broadside Stands Yet?

Always looking for ways to take the hassle out of getting off the ground and into hunting position, while remaining flexible in location options - I ran across this product from Broadside Stands (https://broadsidestands.com/).

Basically it's a saddle platform, but it behaves in a manner similar to the lower platform of a climber.

Instead of using rigid cable, it uses Dyneema rope (or Amsteel if you choose that option). A video that shows the climbing method is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaTh...roadsideStands

So essentially, it eliminates the need for climbing sticks. It's pricey, though!

Kind of a cool idea - has anyone here tried this out yet?

Every year my back is saying upgrade tree stands so they are more comfortable. Something like this would be going backwards lol

I like that it eliminates the need for sticks, but for that price I could buy 3-5 sets of cheap sticks to use at semi-permanent spots I think. Really cool design though!

But sheesh, with shipping & duties that thing is probably closer to $800CAD

Yep, that's really steep. Here's hoping when they get their manufacturing ramped up they can bring the price down a bit.

I just use a saddle and normal climbing sticks. In my opinion there are advantages to both mobile and semi permanent setups. I think in an ideal world a person would have both.
