Talk to Jim Korth in Okotoks.....they are the Leupold shop in Canada....

I was going to have an elevation turret installed on my VXIII but instead I sold it and went with a Mark II 3-9x40.....has the LR Duplex and both windage and elevation turret.....for less $$ than it would have cost me to have one installed.....

I have had Korth install a couple of elevation knobs on my leupold scopes. Dialing for elevation takes much of the guess work out of long range shooting.
Quality was as one would expect from Leupold, Excellent!!
The cost of $100 per scope was well worth it for me.

Now all I have to do is forward all of my bullet drop information to Kenton industries so that they can Laser etch some custom knobs for me.

Chuck What's the story on that fine looking rifle?

Tom

If you mean the Leupold Custom turrets (ie: BDC).....good luck !!! I enquired twice over the last month directly to leupold and never even had a response!!
So I too had Korth do a turret conversion and will now be ordering a custom BDC from Kenton Industries.

Chuck! Hey buddy.

What is the colour mix for that swirly? Ricky like!

I may need to give Echols a call, and see if I can get my LEGEND stock done like that! Think it would go with our Norma?

That rifle is a bone stock 700 CDL chambered for the 243 with some slight alterations. I added the McMillan stock (classic 60% dark green 40% med tan), a Callahan striker/shroud assy, and a Rifle Basix trigger. That thing is obscenely accurate at obscene ranges. One day I'll get some video of it.

Rod, I tried to sell you a gun once. As I recall it was a Model 70 with an Echols magazine box that held 4 416 rem cartridges down and fed em like greased sausages. I ended up selling it to a nice man in B.C. and I'm about to get choked up just talking about it.

Rick, an Echols stock is sure to make that Norma look like garbage. Not only that, but his stock design sucks. The man isn't much of an artist Although rumor has it he's stooped low enough to now make a lefty version available.

Chuck,

The email has been sent to D'Arcy to change the stock from grey (would have gotten black webbing) to that combo. I shamelessly blamed you...

If only the guy would sell me a mag box as well. I'm going to sweet talk BL to get him to make a mag box that will hold 4 down.

I haven't handled a LEGEND, haven't even seen one, but have heard from so many reliable sources that it is such a POS that I had to try it. If nothing else, I should be able to sell it for recycled fiberglass. What's it weigh, 3 - 4 pounds?

What's the time frame on the 280AI?

P.S. Coming to Kamloops for the show this weekend?

No I'm not but should. That's where my gun is and maybe I could put on some pressure if they knew I was coming.

They told me two weeks, and they took delivery a week ago.

You do realize that your bullet drop changes significantly with temperature, alititude, humidity and changes in loading components.
The dedicated custom knobs will not compensate for any of these variables.
The standard 1/4 moa marked turrets and a drop chart that can be readily changed is less expensive and more viable.
Just my opinion, but thought I would share it.

Rick,
Granted trajectory is based on several variables that are constantly changing. I try to get a baseline of where a rifle is shooting and get a custom knob etched. From there I can always dial a couple minutes up or down from a yardage marker to accomodate the prevailing conditions. Obviously keeping an accurate log of my dope in the prevailing conditions is manditory. Even though the knob now says 200, 250, 300, 325, 350, I still have the exact same 1/4 minute clicks to work with as I did with the original knob. In the field I find in much more expediant to just look at the knob, dial the yardage and make any corrections from that point.

To each his own though,
