Default Lake Trout In Bow River???

Hi folks, yesterday I fished the confluence of JP creek into the Bow at Cochrane and was surprised of catching a 9 inch lake trout! Has this happened to anyone else? Is it common or rare?

Thanks!

happens more often then you think. alot of the lakers get washed down from ghost lake some have even been caught below bears paw dam. the bad thing is i don't think anglers would be able to keep it even back with the old regs.

you're welcome we use to catch and eat those little half pound lakers way back in the old days and were delicious. back then it was a not that strict for regs miss those days.

Oh for sure, used to love to keep my fair of trout outta the Bow, to bad the new regs ban it. Oh well, what can ya do. At least I can fish the river in town and not drive to Calgary to fish the Bow in winter.

Talking to one of the younger anglers at the FTH, there is also the odd lunker in there. I tied into something that I could not budge and eventually broke off. He figured probably a big laker. He and his buddy went out and his buddy caught and landed what looked like a 15 lber. I saw the pics... man would that be fun in the river. You just never know
