Default Is The Ice Thick Enough to Fish

Have you been out ice fishing yet? I haven't. I would like to go out to Pine Lake, just wondering if anyone knows if the ice is thick enough. If you have been out anywhere maybe you could comment on the thickness of the ice at any lake and the date you went out.

Cheers

Hey, here's a more knowledgable response.

Anywhere within a hour of Edmonton should have at lead 8 inches of solid clear ice.

Close to shore there will be flood water due to the snow, but once you get out further your good.

Anywhere above slave I hear the conditions are not safe. 4inches of ice, 2 feet of snow, and brutal flood water because the eight and insulation from the snow is taking forever to freeze solid.

Cool local lakes to pine.

Locally our lakes have better than 6" of ice. Fine for walk on fishing. If temps hold some lakes will be drive on soon. Check the ice you self is a good rule of thumb at any lake you are unsure of ice conditions on. Welcome to the form. Lol. We can be a tough crowd as you can see.
