have you considered dumping your skiff into the river. lots of water right now and it fished well again today. the drifters i spoke with were trolling streamers and doing well.

Only one west of Calgary within 1 hr is Bearspaw. Virtually any decent sized fishing lake (other than private or Eagle) is 1-1/2 hrs from town. Not too sure if Spray or Minnewanka would be opened up yet, and they'd be early to fish yet.. With the winds we had yesterday, most of the prairie lakes will be a challenge. And this AM looks like another one, I see large branches moving already with some of the gusts here this AM., and at this time of the day, it'll likely get worse later on. Might be ok up at Burntstick, but, that is 1-3/4hrs away. Dickson TP shud be open, but, how fishable it would be ???, it is a bit early yet.
Crawling could be good on pike, if the wind stays reasonable today. Low odds on that though. And it is 1-1/2 hrs anyway.
