I had seen the pictures, but a lot can happen in two weeks. Has anyone been out recently?

I think Daceminnow has been out there more recently. I've been camping out at Bow Valley PP, and all of the big lakes nearby all still have ice. Might be receeding a bit around the edges. I was at Sylvan on Friday an it still has a ton of ice, maybe a 100' of open water in bays and on the edges. The mountain lakes will take longer to thaw, especially K country and Spray.

Gee thanks Captain Buzzkill.

I was thinking about fishing the K lakes this weekend. But you have destroyed that for me.

I had planned on that too, but the Mighty Bow does not like me much.

My buddy went out there this past weekend. And he informed me that the ice is coming off quite rapidly. He mentioned that where the Smith Dorian creek comes in, the entire top of the lake is free of ice. so its only a matter of time.
He also said the water level is REALLY low. Which I suppose is the same scoop every year.
But I figure you'll have to get out there and see.

Nice and clear in terms of ice for sure. But how about clarity? Thinking of hitting the bow at fish creek, 22X or downstream. Wondering if I would be wasting my time right now unless I have flashing glow-in-the-dark flies. Any ideas?

Drove past 22x bridge yesterday and people were fishing. Looked to be not bad. At Bearspaw dam the other day it was pretty good. The river is low currently.

Up in Exshaw where we're camping it's pretty clear actually. I think the farther downstream the worse it gets though.

Fished there yesterday. It is still completely frozen at the north end but if you go to the dam between the Upper and Lower lake there is lots of open water for casting from shore.

Nothing for me but I was with OttCan and he caught a nice bull. I think it is still too cold for them to want to go after crankbaits.

Nice, Was going to try there tmorrow, but instead will try closer to home and wait for the ice to melt a bit more and the fishing to pick up.

Thanks for the report
