Default M70 alaskan or safari

Im looking at getting a winchester m70 in 375 h&h does anyone know the difference between the alaskan and safari models. From what I can tell there the same gun except for an inch barrel difference and location of the swivel stud. Any feedback would be appreciated thanx.

Default M70 in .375

Winchesters are great rifles but fro a .375 H&H take time to consider the CZ 550 Safari Magnum?

I do have a CZ 550 in 308. It is a super accurate rifle the only thing I dont like about it is that the bolt gets hung up if not pushed at the right angle. Another possibility is a ruger no1 but I have heard they are pretty light for a 375

The tropical is a nice gun in 375 and the weight is not too light.

The Alaskan has a thinner, shorter barrel and is a Shot Show special, so I'm not sure if it is available as a regular item. The Safari has a shorter, heavier barrel and also has German Recknagel express open sights through New England Custom Gun. I have handled one and I would like it myself. Talk to Diane at P&D to put in an order, as I have not seen this model anywhere as regular stock.

Safari is a little heavier gun. It has a straighter stock which, to me, is a more comfortable rifle to shoot. Monte carlo stocks seem to jump with recoil rather than come straight back. Ellwood epps, in Ontario, had alaskan in 375 a while back and will ship across Canada.
