Default 28 from 28

28" of goodness from 28' of water. Caught on the dead stick jig and minnow. Almost took the rod down the whole while we were standing 10' away. Couldn't bring ourselves to keeping this trophy fish. Back in the water it went to hopefully be caught again! was the only walleye we caught all day. LOL

The guy in the picture and myself both guide at a fly in Lodge in Ontario in the summers and he was stoked to get this one as he hasnt even got a fish that big up there in the last few summers for himself.

Wrong, wrong and wrong, and it actually wasnt skinny at all. It wasnt as easy fit in the 8" hole. Its alright though, there has always got to be haters.

Whos hating?
I said it was a nice looking fish, just looks under fed. (Like many eyes in Alberta)

From the pics you posted the head looks like it would be a nice 8lb fish but the body isnt fat as the head would suggest body looks more like 6.5 lb fish.

Not hating or taking anything away from anyone.

Not just a nice fish, but awesome photos! The second photo is very professional. That's how you take human + fish photos!

Its a pet peave of mine when there is a photo with the fish only taking up 1/10th of the picture. Your taking a pic of the fish and person, not the background and the boat. Guests tend to like when they get a really great photo of there catch as well to actually do the fish justice. The technique is getting there, but still being perfected. Need to catch more fish!!

that's a great looking specimen. nothing like some of the skeletor fish from a couple of the lakes you've mentioned. it's been a couple years since i've fished pigeon and calling now, but this fish has NO resemblance to some of those poor deprived walleye that were struggling in those lakes.

again great fish Wes, i just may recognise that ice ridge. here's to a bigger one before she closes.

Beauty walleye. If you don't mind me asking what lodge do you guide for? Ex was from NW Ontario, had a cabin on an island on a fly in lake. Unreal walleye fishing. Busy day on the lake was seeing 6 other boats on it and the lake is the size of Pigeon lake.

Nice colourful looking fish. Great picture taking. A 28" walleye is about an 8 lber, not a monster by any means.

Just to clear up what I was saying this fish is of compareable size
**note the body to head ratio

The color and pics are much nicer in your fish!!!

I full realize what fat fish look like but have never seen a pic of one such as the one you have just posted caught in Alberta. If that one was then congratulations, but thats deifnately not the norm for around here.

Awesome photography!

That's definitely seems like a walleye that someone wouldn't catch everyday!

Nice Wayne!.... Looks like 3 of us will be up in that area on sunday. 1 last try! Although were just going to drop a whole bunch of bait down for pike if the walleye fishing is slow.
