Default help my dad out with war monuments

HI everyone,
My dad retired from the army after 38 years as an officer and is now volunteering at a war museum in Ottawa. One of his programs is creating a data base which logs and records all war trophies (captured enemy artillery and equipment ) cenotaph and monuments as well as all the legions in Canada. He needs pictures of these items from all small rural towns and cities. I send him picutrs of fhe towns i drive through when I can but If there are any artillery prices, legions or monuments in your town it would be greatly appreciated If you can PM me a couple pictures of them. If you send me your name my dad will credit you with the pictures that are uploaded to the data base.

Thanks

This is really interesting, and reminds me of something I think I read a long time ago in Pierre Burton's book 'Vimy'. How many of the artillery pieces at Legions, etc are captured from the enemy? Was it a common thing to do?

I may have a picture from my local Legion in NS...I'll see if I can dig it up for your Dad.

I will see if my dad has a link to the data base for people to check out.
War trophies were a very big thing in ww1. unfortunately a lot were scrapped in ww2 to produce new equipment. My dad has a list of war trophies from the Second World War, but there are always new ones popping up or they were moved so he is updating as he goes. Every year he drives out to visit and do some hunting and he takes a new set of back roads to visit rural areas he would otherwise never get to see. It's the perfect pass time for a retired guy. This data base will take years to complete. It's his new full time job and he seems to love doing it.

Used to be a German 75 mm gun alongside H 3 in the Crowsnest Pass, whatever happened to it? Last time I was by, just some 08 sled mounts left.
