They are Cold Lake Specials, you can get them at WS or FH.
My buddy makes them, 1-1/4 oz with a stinger hook. The stinger was very important this weekend, probably half the fish were only caught by the stinger.

Dan

How did you guys make out, I think we saw you guys and your tent city?

Default Burbot on cold

Was gonna head up and do some night fishing for burbot and get in on the early morning trout bite ! Any pointers on where to go for burbot this time of year ? And any recent ice conditions at Garnett point ?

Was out yesterday, ice is good, lot less flood water and slush, for burbot fish around Garnett point, was a few burbot remains on the ice there!. Good luck

I myself would not be taking a truck on Cold lake this year, the ice varies from spot to spot, some places have 14" some have 10" use your sleds or sxs, some people have been there with trucks, not many though

Everywhere I was there was 18-20" of ice guys were driving from thee PP around to the Sask side. The only place I would be very careful of would be the back bays, long bay, etc.

I was out Friday, Saturday and Monday, I was fishing just into Sask, no trucks went by me any day, not a person went from the Albert side to the Sask side while I was there from morning till night, the closest person to me was JR, if they did drive there trucks down that way on Sunday there was no tracks when I went out on Monday, the only truck tracks I seen stopped at garrnet beach, just be careful all

I agree be careful, but the tracks were all blown in within minutes. There was a truck on the border point because I was trying to wave it down. We were on a side by side and the slush/ice with wind chill iced up my front tires/four wheel drive to the point the front tires would not turn. We had to get Slovene to pull us off the lake Sun evening. We were going to fish Monday as well, but could not melt the ice down

The other place that may not be safe was just inside french bay.
Two weeks back we were there and it was like 15 inches at one hole and around 7 inches of ice at the next hole where my partner was.
Can anyone confirm what they found last weekend , just inside french bay.

Default Where to unload

Planning on hitting the lake tomorrow, we are a little concerned about the shape of the launch a PP. Is there anywhere on shore to unload sleds and quads at with parking for a trailer?

Thx

You would use pink underneath one of your ghetto jackers wouldn't you

I never even made it to Cold lake this winter, catching 30 in lakers is going to be boring after catching a couple big ones lol.
