Bigger loops .. U don't need to get a special type of fly line😂. just takes practice. Thingamabobbers are super quick to put on and take off, good for fishing streams. If your fishin still waters id suggest a slip indicator.

The only thing you need to do is shorten your leader.

Default Indicator casting

Simple use the the KISS method ie ..... KEEP IT SIMPLE ______ ... load your rod/line with the river and lob it .... false casting should be kept to a minimum if at all.... keep your casts short and concentrate on your line control instead. Move yourself rather than cast longer if possible

What I forgot to mention on the previous post is:
If you have 10 ft of leader past your indicator you will need 10 to 15 ft of fly line out of the rod to get the cast going well, as you have to get the leader and strike indicator off the water. It is the weight of the fly line that lifts the whole shebang off the water. I quit often cast 20 ft or more under a strike indicator. I will start with 20 to 25 ft of line out past the end of the fly rod.

If you are to use long leaders you need the lightest strike indicator you can find.
Start with as much fly line out of the rod that you can handle to start the cast.
Before you try casting with an indicator put 15 to 20 ft of fly line out and make sure you can start a cast with that much line past the end of the rod easily. And like the one fellow said, you roll cast to get everything going.
Bjay

keep trying you will make it.
