best wishes for your sister's speedy recovery, glad it wasn't worse although she is going to be hurting for a while. neighbor's barrel racing daughter was in a horse crash too, horse went over backwards and she suffered two broken hips. still racing barrels two years later.

I truly hope recovery goes very well, horses can be fun..or not. My wife darn near had her left hand pulled right off by a horse that jumped back while she was walking it to the corral…she now plays the mandolin with that hand!
Let’s pray for the same sort of recovery…

Rough go for her for a bit here. Sounds like she has a strong support system & that will help a lot. Thankful for Stars, we don't have a big list so we do quite a bit with them. Wishing everyone the best!!

And she is more banged up on one side over the other.....she connected with something really hard
Wife had similar accident when she was 18. Horse spooked and bolted, she fell off but foot got caught in stirrup. Dragged her across the field then jumped a barb wire fence still dragging her. Wears a knee brace to this day when doing sports and luckily the head scars from the barb wire are all under her hair line.

I don’t think people realize how often those choppers fly. I live rural, it’s quiet. You look up and see everything you hear, and I see the STARS helicopters an awful lot. And that’s just in my little patch of sky East of the city.

They are critical.

I have the fields gps'd and marked just for that purpose.

We are very fortunate to have Stars and I am happy they were there for your sister!
I was hospitalized a couple of times in the last few years in Edmonton and both times my room was just below the landing pad and it was a daily event that Stars came in, some days multiple landings.

My thoughts are with your sister and family.
Hope her surgery goes well and for a speedy recovery.

Everytime I hear the STARS Helicopter my heart sinks, but I also feel a sense of great pride knowing that the person in their care are in the best hands they can be. My hat is off to the women and men who daily respond to the worst of the worst and help pull so many through.
