Default whitefish

I havent had much experience fishing for these, the ones i caught today were a total surprise, is there any MArkings/characteristics than can tell you which are male/female???? I caught a fair sized female today but didnt know it until i cut it open

i would try google thats what i use for every thing lol
what are you useing to catch them?

gold trout spinners strangely enough, i wasnt expecting to catch whites yesterday...lol found them both in slow moving eddies on the east side of the river, two different spots though

unfortunatly, you can also get them by the dozen right now on pigeon. Lots of summer kill. Hundreds floating belly up of east side of lake... but what struck was the size of them... they are very big fish... avering at least 24 - 28 inches and very fat.

yeah i was surprised at the size of the ones i got, but then i havent caught a whitefish in probably 12 years or so....since before the bait ban on the bow

told yah, you dont need bait for them :P come to the gathering I will teach you how to catch them without bait

the browns really seemed to like that one, but a branch stole that when i was trying to get my boat to the shore yesterday, i'm stuck with the "trout spinners" until i can get more stuff...
