Default Tie two custom flies for me?

Hey folks,

I need some help... I want to get my wife a special gift for her birthday...

Our son just turned one on January 1st, and a few days prior, he had his first hair cut. With that, Mrs. Fallen saved his first lock of hair. I want to surprise her with two custom flies with a bit of his hair tied in with them as a keepsake.

I know there are plenty of tiers out there, and I just don't have the means available to tie them myself (or the knowledge). If someone is able to help me out, I will definitely cover the cost of hooks and materials.

I'm not looking for any particular pattern. Her favourite colours are red/pink/orange, so bright would be good

PM me, and I can mail you cash and a bit of hair (as weird as it sounds lol).

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

Not weird at all. A buddy did it with his son's hair. Called the fly a "Josh Special" and actually caught fish with it!!

Great idea! Good luck!

Judging from the number of replies, you can see what everyone thinks of your idea.

You're absolutely right. There is no need for me to state the obvious.
Thanx for your help.

A couple questions:

When is "her birthday"? Two weeks, two months, mid August?

How long is the hair you have? Is it straight, curved, curly?

I have tied with different hair from pets (dogs and cats) and from people's pet birds, but human hair is a tricky material as it usually has no taper; however, since this is junior's first trim, there may be some.

Thanks for the replies, all!

His hair is pretty straight. Not very coarse, but more soft. The hairs are 1-3" long by my guess, and Very straight with a slight curve in it. Not curly by any means.

My wife's birthday isn't until May 6, so I think there's lots of time ahead

Also, Mods, sorry if this thread is against any regs (specifically asking someone to tie flies for me) Delete if necessary, you have a job to do.

A very simple streamer would be your best bet. Perhaps a red doc sprately using the hair for the tail, throat and overwing. What colour is the hair?
