Your original "Are you kidding?!?!?!?!" retort to his well-intentioned suggestion is what likely got you two off on the wrong foot.

PS, I agree with the content of your replies.

Winding down Chubb... Buying new kitchen appliances with the wife tonight, then fishing Odlum Pond tomorrow. Going to enjoy the hike. 10k each way. Never been there before. It sounds pretty easy.

I figure she gets an extra two points for wanting to get out fishing . . . that makes her a 10 and they aren't easy to come by!

How about a nice little trout lake? In the mountains (kinda), not too far from Calgary, scenic and nice to paddle around in? Beaver Lake by Caroline sounds like a great date to this girl. It might be a bit of work to entice them at this time of year, but the overall experience would be much more enjoyable than PCR.

If callaway park isnt a good option...go to banff and canoe/fish the little lake south of Mini.....2 jack lake i think....its pretty there and has fish. Must be a good lake for romance too, seen some nature lovers making birds and bees in a van there many years ago

I would say the first step to impressing a girl you refer to as an 8 outa 10 is to never let her know you started this thread

Piece of advice... think of any girl you are out with as a 10 out of 10.
He knows no one will believe a 10 is going out with anybody on this forum...........hahahahaahah

Smile Are you an experienced canoeist?

If so on a good day the bow river is the best trout stream in North America.

With the Boy scouts an me in the canoe we caught 33 between Hwy 22 and policeman's flats in a couple of hours. The water was gin clear and we could eddy out in the middle of the river where the drift boats couldn't stop.

A mepps spinner and the right day is all you need,

Have fun.

No fish in Hidden Lake. Might have to find something else to do if you hike up there.
