Someone must have used the "Report Post" feature on the post that got you the infraction. I suspect if we were all more inclined to use it infractions would be handed out in more circumstances.

Also, there's been a bit of a shake-up with regards to who is moderating the fishing forum, I think.

I really enjoyed reading everybodys perspective on this very serious problem.. never fished clear lake but I tend to avoid fishing these lakes because of over harvsting & poor chance of getting a trophy picture.I live in calgary & when hunting a trophy fish usually travel 4-5 hours..(unfortanatly). Sure regulations & ethics are one thing, the fact I read that 1 out of 6 people fishing on lakes has or will illegally poach fish.We need this matter to be inforced..Or will fighting a losing battle..

I seen what transpired before the posts got deleted, personally I think it's a bunch BS.

If someone would have just minded their own business, let the issue alone and not kept pressing it any further - things would have worked out differently.

It is funny how some people ( not just the trolls ) can bash other people all the time and nothing happens - but when others .......well you know.

As for Clear lake - I can wait to go back there and try again

I caught my biggest pike ever through the ice a month ago I was a solid 44 inches, barely got back down the hole, I guessing because it was so fat and bigger than pictures I have seen, I am sure was pushing 30lbs. I wanted to get it back so fast and bad wasn't thinking about my camera phone, but this lake has got me hooked
When you read last years angler of the year caught a pike from Clear and you match the length you know there is more
everyone just needs to fish responsible, keep 1 if you have to but the rest should be catch and release, personally every fish I have taken in Alberta is just catch and release the way it should be, if you want to eat fish go to Costco,great buys on pickeral or as we say in Alberta walleye. Fish are always cheaper at the store taste great but you are always satisfied you have done your part , keeping great fishing alive for ever:wav e:

It was fishing very slow the last 2 or 3 months, but thats the same story all over the province this winter.

Nothing but 20/lb Pike and Humpy Perch in there so keep it low key so the others don't find out.

shhhh, and dont forget the heavy steel leaders in Chestermere. those 20 pounders are probably 25 after the mild winter. might need them for the perch too, some of them have to be record size now!
