(one day at the range, trying to see what the 'problem' was with my Savage) Got a few groups very close to 1"...but most were 1-1/4"-1-1/2". All Winchester 22WMR ammo printed like a 12ga shotgun.

I've heard there are 22WMRs out that that shoot well...but after my own experiences (Savage/Marlin..something German)...I'm reluctant to take a CZ$ risk. lol I'd love to try one.
I just bought one in the "Canadian" model (.22wmr) I will let you know how it shoots..

I had a 451 years ago that to me, was made much better than the newer models. That can be said about most things. Had a long barrel with the schnable stock.

Took the rifle out today and IT is a keeper ...CCI Shoootem bullets, 8x scope and hits at 200+ yards to around 10 feet (no rangefinder)..38 rounds,35 gophers and 3 honest misses due to the nut behind the gun....recoil is a bit tricky for seeing hits and splash but doable....wish it had a bit heavier barrel for this reason. Trigger was a bit stiff but was breaking like glass by the end of the day (49 rounds)... another CZ joins the herd.

Default CZ

I just purchased a brand new CZ452 Varmint 17HMR with some of the procedes from my coyote fur sales ...

Installed the YO DAVE trigger kit which is now @ 1-1/2 lb pull weight.
Replaced the STRIKER spring and mounted a EGW 20moa rail.

Mounted a VORTEX FFP 2-1/2-10 PST with NEAR rings

I did a barrel break-in at my acreage
My first trip to the range shooting CCI Gamepoint 20gr.
@ 50 yards with alot bullets going into the same holes but - not a consistent 5 shot group, mostly my fault.
The rifle will shoot better then I did and I wish I had more magnification.

Will be stealing the 4200 Elite off my SAKO .22 which is a 4-16 variable.

Nice rifle I have a .22 that could be it's twin...got to love the wood on the older CZ's before the US move.

I had access to a CZ 452 in 22 WMR that has problems with misfires on Federal ammo. If I would re chamber with the round rotated 90 degrees, it would fire.

I replaced the striker spring with a yodave 10% stronger spring. No more misfires.

Found it easiest to replace the striker spring with a clamp or vise using a steel tire valve cap to push the safety end in (whatever that little black bit on the back side of the bolt is called). Very controllable, and a lot easier to line up.

Alberta al that’s a nice rig. My CZ won’t shoot the 20gr but shoot the 17 gr really well

CZ bolt disassembly tools.
Left - homemade. 22LR case epoxied into a pop bottle lid. A 223 case cut to length might be a better fit, but a 22 case works fine.
Right - fancy pants commercial version.
