Default Carlson Cremator Long Range choke tubes

Looking at purchasing this choke tube for my spring snow goose hunts. Any comments from those that use it. Is it worth the $70.

Ive got a Carlson in my Browning Silver 12g. Cant remember the model now, but what a difference over the factory chokes. Kill way more birds.
I think mine was in that 70$ range, maybe a touch cheaper.

I bought the 2 pack with the mid range and long range. If I had a do over I'd probably just buy the mid range. I can't see the need to shoot steel past the effective range of the mid range choke. Both pattern better in my benelli than any of the factory chokes.

Go pattern your gun before you run out and spend money on chokes. Try it with 5-6 brands of ammo and a couple of shot sizes. You may well find you don't need to buy a choke.

I have used several chokes from several manufactures on my Beretta and Benelli with 1 1/8 #1 steel shot reloads @ 1620fps.

Trulock chokes have patterned better as Carlson and as PM. Terror chokes performed even better but I had to junk these POS as they swelled and got stuck in my gun (2 of them).

Trulock and Carlson chokes have shown better patterning with less restriction on the choke. IC and M performed better as IM chokes. I do 90% of my hunting using IC/M chokes and the rest with PM code black duck for geese long shots.

Another thing to keep in mind is the choke you are asking is not warranted for steel shot bigger than#2.
Good luck

Using the patternmaster chokes has saved me a ton on ammo--gave super X's a whole new life

I don't bother with specialty waterfowl chokes I use a Briley extended LM choke, that is also used to shoot sporting clays. The patterns with #2 or BB Kent Fasteel are excellent.
