Looking at Google Earth, there is defiantly one there. If you were to follow the canal from the north side of Chestermere it is probably 750m or so up the canal.

I am pretty sure you don't have to trespass. Tree was there with his son not long ago but he's probally working right now and I don't have his number with me or I'd ask him. theres a bridge there I think you can access fronm there or try the canal coming out the north end of chesterslough . Might be pretty weedy though

I can't tell you whether or not the pond is actually owned by the property owners or not, but it probably isn't. If it is, they'd need to prove it to you (it will be on the land title, if it is).

So, if you got into the pond below the highwater mark you'd probably be fine. You might get a little wet, though. I'm not sure how deep the canal is.

The pond is private... But its been real slow this year, soooo... The guy lives just to the east of the pond, Pretty good about letting people on if u go ask for permission.

I'm pretty sure you are talking about Inverlake it is beside inverlake road about 3 minutes from my place it is always good for a few pike by the bridge and a few more at the outlet dam. In the fall a few weeks before they shut of the canal some nice size trout can be caught of the bridge.

Marlin's right and so is Jorge. Inverlake, and my little guy caught his first pike there on a red and white spoon. I wouldn't think it would be too weedy at the bridge as the current seemed to flow in pretty good. We just fished under the bridge and the landowner came by on his tractor and just smiled and waved. Neat little place.

Maybe you and I will have to try it out on Sunday if you're not working. I'll drive, and you make the sandwiches (sound fair?). I'm still having a really hard time putting shoes on as a result a broken toe, but I'm sure I can hobble around alright.

I don't think it is worth a day trip as you can completly fish each section in 20 minutes or so--you should try Graham reservoir not to far from there and easily fished from shore.

Is this it http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=graham+...11151&t=h&z=14

A post from earlier this year indicates that a landowner has gotten cranky when it comes to access and is pretty quick about calling the RCMP. It does look like the entire reservoir could be within private land, but as I don't have access to a land titles database right now I can't confirm that.

I remember that post I think it was someone trying to scare of people. The reservoir is owned by WID and I have never had a problem fishing there.

Okay . . . Inverlake is not particularly exciting. The farmer did come by on his tractor, and he gave us a wave and a smile. I got skunked, but Baitfisher caught two pike. Will I go back? Probably not. It was pretty weedy (even at the bridge). I didn't loose any tackle, but I did come close.

If I gave up on a lake every time I went "fishless" I'd almost never fish anywhere again!

Nah, it was how rocky and unstable it was that turned me off it the most . . . and the weeds . . . the wasps. Well, maybe the wasps the most . . . would have made a funny picture if I'd wound up in the lake running away from that one!

Yup. But I hung the first one in front of Baitfisher's face and said something to the effect of "Exactly how am I supposed to get this thing off the hook."

She humoured me

After handling so many perch the other night, I'm a little nervous about spiny fish . . . I must have jabbed myself dozens of times while cleaning them and my hands are still pretty sore.

If it doesn't say you can't, then you probably can. Just guessing though. I'm working near there tomorrow and may hit it up real quick when I take lunch. If it works out, I'll let ya know.
