Default Scat Identification Help

I came across both of these today. I’m guessing the darker one may be deer? (I’ve never seen it clustered like this). The property is a 1/4 mile from a river, and there is said to be cougars around (it’s my friends property and she has yet to see one in 63 years there). She has all kinds of animals that roam her property. The other lighter scat was around an inch wide.

Im in the Bonnyville area.

Hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks more like the dark one is from deer.

If you have facebook, there is a pretty good page "Animal Scat Identification".

Both from deer, scat may vary depending on size of animal or what they eat.

Like these 3 hoodlums helping clean up my busted branches/leaves from the other day.
