Saw this fellow South of GP last week. Not a care in the world, just happily munching away. Oh what I wouldn't have given for a grizz tag...

It would sure be nice to have a draw and get those habituated bears cautious again. They really don’t give a crap about people or activity. There is going to be some mauling!

That is a young small bear BTW, good chance it’s a sow.

When you southern boys post how far east those grizz are it always surprises. Had to look on the map where Raymond is.

Wow! That is not something I'd be expecting. My boys have been doing a little shed hunting this spring, I will be sure to tell them to keep their eyes open!

Default Fires?

Have you seen them prior to the fires H380 2 years ago? I wonder if they ended up displaced from a fire and found the eating to be just fine and stayed?
Ive spent a fair bit of time with just a bow in hand in 108, never really crossed my mind to carry spray out there.
Wouldnt stand much of a chance in the Prairie with a bear stalking you and no weapon.
Fish and Wildlife might be interested in getting those 2 back somewhere safe, no? Because i cant see them living long.

Sightings were sporadic here in 108 starting about 10 years ago. But last 6-7 years they have been seen pretty consistent by the ranch hands on the 3 big ranches. The one ranch they knew of about 8 living there last summer. Even as Far East in 108 as ridge reservoir and main Deseret ranch buildings and Twin Rivers

One spotted about the same time at H22 and the Bergen road, possibly the same bear.

Grizz

There should be a website, where you can post where you see them, to get a better picture of where we should stay away from said place, like the wild pig site.

Default Amazing and bad memories

While guiding up in North Ram years ago myself and a partner watched a grizz come around willow brush and beaver dams then attack one of our horses, I would not of believed it could happen until I witnessed it, but it was like a lion on the back of a zebra, very fast run and on the rear of the horse then shoulders for the pull down. We had to pull up camp and move over to the next valley. That is really something you never forget. 12ga in bear country at all times.

As KBF has already said, the bears have been here awhile in small.numbers but either getting braver now or numbers are up...
As for their safety only a fool would poke one as I'm sure the penalty would be severe ....as.long as they mind their manners there should be no problem but it is a little unsettling seeing them out here ,knowing their power anything is possible...if a situation were to occur I will let F&W handle it .

Default Grizz

Grizz are moving back to top of food chain, the area we ranchers and farmers took away from them about 100 years ago thanks to Mr. Winchester, however now we lock our guns up to protect us from danger.

See, this is the kind of out-of-the-box thinking we need. Love it!

Sadly, all that that information would be used for is the closure of black bear baiting and random camping.
