Default Your Top 10 list

Hi,

I am going to be going hardcore with the flyfishing come next season and I would like to see what ppl are using for drys and nymphs. What are your personal top 10 flies that you wouldn't head to a stream without. TIA!

it really depends on what fish i am intending to target and what time of year i am going. but for 10 flies that i take all the time the following would probably be the top 10

bead head nymph in green or olive (the only nymph i fish regularly)
elk hair caddis in variety of colors but yellow most used
blue wing olive (BWO for short)
orange stimulator (can be used in a pinch for a grasshopper imitiation in fall)
wolly bugger (always looking for that bull hiding in the pools)
adams
ant pattern (if nothing else is working can always dredge up one or two on an ant)
parachute adams
parachute BWO
green drake

fall i will tend to take more grasshopper and parachute patterns while in spring/early summer i always carry a stonefly nymph pattern in case i run into a hatch of them, then you can't keep the fish off the line.

of course the best thing to do before you go out is to try and see if youcan find out what is hatching in that area and take those flies mostly with you.

bead head nymphs, bow river bugger, wolley bugger, chrionomid, adams, mosquito, grasshopper, royal coachman, stimulator, and lastly a wire worm even though i never had the luck like the guy above me, but it compliments nice a chrionomid above it.
